Liam Lawson has finished a career-best fifth claiming valuable points in yet another chaotic race, this time rain-affected Singapore Grand Prix sprint race at the Marina Bay Street Circuit.

The 24-year-old New Zealander climbed three places from eighth on the grid to collect four championship points for Racing Bulls, taking his season tally to 69.

He sits in ninth overall on the Drivers Championship tally.

The sprint was delayed by more than half an hour after heavy rain left standing water on the circuit, with drivers switching to intermediate tyres before the start.

Max Verstappen won the race ahead of Ferrari drivers Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc.

Lawson then qualified ninth for the main race with Verstappen again on pole with Leclerc and Hamilton qualifying second and third respectively.
