Dunedin swimmer Caitlin Deans has claimed bronze in the women's 400m freestyle at the second leg of the World Aquatics Swimming World Cup in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.


Deans, 26 clocked a time of 4 minutes 1.76 seconds was under the qualifying mark for the World Aquatics Swimming Championships.

The bronze adds to the silver medal in the 800m freestyle in Azerbaijan last week.


Meanwhile 27-year-old Lewis Clareburt clocked 1:53.97 in the 200m individual medley, going under the qualifying mark for the World Short Course Championships (once again!).


The performance was just 0.33 shy of the NZ record he set in Baku last week
