An inconsistent third round mixing the bad with the good has seen Daniel Hillier slip on the leaderboard at the DP World Tour Championship.


Held at the Jumeirah Golf Estate the tournament is the final event of the year on the European Tour with places on the PGA Tour up for grabs.

Hillier started the third round is a tie for second but will go into the final round at nine-under and in 17th only four shots off the leaders.


After his first two rounds of 67 and 68 he carded an even round 72 featuring a bogey, bogey, birdie, bogey between the third and sixth holes. Later on the 18th he had an eagle three on the par five 18th to bring his round back to even.


Countryman Kazuma Kobori is tied 24 at six-under after a third round 70 - his third of the tournament.


At the top of the leaderboard is Rory McIlroy at 13-under alongside Denmark's Rasmus Neegaard-Petersen.


McIlroy putting pressure on the Dane with five birdies and one bogey in his round. Not to be outdone Neegaard-Petersen had the same card of 68 and the same birdies and bogeys.
