Erika Fairweather bronze in star-studded race

New Zealand swimmer Erika Fairweather has continued her top form of late to claim her second medal of the Pan Pacific Championship meet in California.
Fairweather, 22 took bronze in a time of 4:02.35s in the 400m freestyle in a race featuring a couple of world stars

Fairweather went out hard and spent much of the race battling the United States legend Katie Ledecky for second, as Australia's Lani Pallister stormed ahead.
Fourteen-time Olympic medallist Ledecky found a late burst over the last 150m to take silver in 4:00.15, with Fairweather holding on comfortably for bronze. Pallister won gold in 3:58.42, the only swimmer in the field to break four minutes.
It is Fairweather's second medal of the meet, the 22-year-old having also won bronze in the 200m freestyle on day one.
The women's 4x100m relay team, made up of Fairweather, Chelsey Edwards, Zoe Pedersen and Milan Glintmeyer broke the New Zealand record in a time of 3:38.38, almost 3-seconds faster than the previous record from 2012. The time saw them place fourth overall.
