The Black Caps have made the visiting West Indies bowlers suffer in the field with an score of 334-1 on day one of the third test at Mt Maunganui.
Devon Conway remains unbeaten on 178 hitting 25 fours in his 13th century and nightwatchman Jacob Duffy is on nine.
Just prior to the end of play captain Rod Latham was out caught Roston Chase bowled Kemar Roach for 137 from 246 balls.
