Black Caps battle to chase England total

New Zealand require a further 218 runs to win the first cricket test at Lords after two days play, but are 36-3.
The total of 254 for the Black Caps to secure victory seems a long way off after Tom Latham went for a duck and Kane Williamsojn was out lbw to Josh Tongue for 18.

Will O'Rourke came in as night watchman and also went for a duck.
Earlier the remain four wickets in the Black Caps first innings added a few runs form their overnight total of 79-6.
Glenn Phillips added just three to his total as he was bowled by Tongue for 34, Nathan Smith was out for 15 before Kyle Jamieson hit out with 38 from 29 balls including three sixes and two fours.
Eventually the innings ended at 213, still 27 runs short of England's total.
At bat in their second innings the home side made 226 with Emilio Gay making 57 in an opening stand of 52. The next wicket of Jacob Bethell fell at 99 as England looked strong.
However things dismantled from there at Smith took 6-70 from 17 overs. O'Rourke snared two and Matt Henry and Jamieson one each.
A total of 27 extras could prove costly for New Zealand as the test moves into what will be the third and final day.
