White Ferns first ODI loss to England by one wicket

The White Ferns have dropped the first One Day International against England in Durham- by one wicket with 10 balls to spare.
New Zealand batted first and made 210 in the49th over thanks mainly to captain Amelia Kerr with 55 and Maddy Green 88 who featured in a 105 run partnership.

Aside from opener Georgia Plimmer with 20 and Isabella Gaze with 11 no other player reached double figures.
The England wicket takers were spread with Lauren Bell taking 2-38 and captain Charlie Dean 2-21 from seven overs.
At bat the home side also struggled for consistency with Maia Bouchier the top-scorer with 59, Freya Kemp 30 and Dean 31 not out to win the game at 211-9 in the 49th over.
Dean was dropped by Nensi Patel in the 47th over with seven runs required.
Rosemary Mair was the top New Zealand bowler taking 3-42 from her 10 overs while Amelia Kerr had figures of 2-54 from 10.
Jess Kerr, Patel and Bree Illing all took a wicket each. The second ODI is Thursday
