For only the second time in club history the New Zealand Warriors have scored three consecutive victories to start an NRL season.


They dealt to the Newcastle Knights 38-12 in round three of the NRL on their own field at McDonald Jones Stadium.

Co-captain Mitch Barnett was back for the first time, since since June 2025 and made his 50th appearance for the club. Jackson Ford celebrated his 100th first-grade game and kicked a goal in the process.


Newcastle took the early lead through fullback Fletcher Hunt crossing in the third minute before Erin Clark came back from the Warriors


The Knights finally answered through wing Greg Marzhew, The Warriors didn't stay quiet for long with tries to Ford and superstar youngster Leka Halasima before going to halftime 18-6


Into the second spell and co-captain James Fisher Harris crossed followe quickly by Tanah Boyd who had another top game.


The visitors finished with a flourish, as wing Dallin Watene-Zelezniak fielded a kick after the final siren and sent fullback Taine Tuaupiki into the clear.


As he crossed the tryline, Tuaupiki threw a pass inside for debutant Luke Hanson to score, as Ford celebrated his milestone with the first goal of his career.


The result puts the Warriors at the top of the table on points differential over Penrith Panthers and they host Wests Tigers at Go Media Stadium next Friday.
