Wellington Olympic's Chatham Cup title defence has remained alive, but only just. Again.
The Greeks booked their place in next month's final with a penalty shootout victory over Eastern Suburbs at Auckland's Madills Farm on Saturday, following a 1-1 draw after regular and extra-time.

Olympic, the current Central League leaders, will face Northern League club Auckland United for the Cup at North Harbour Stadium on Sunday, September 7.
Isa Prins, who has 10 goals in the regional league, scored the equaliser for Olympic in the 48th minute, cancelling out Jacob Mechell's opening goal in the 30th minute.
After Johnny Reynolds missed the first attempt of the shootout, Adam Supyk, Gavin Hoy, Tor Davenport Petersen and Gianni Bouzoukis all converted, before Scott Basalaj stopped the final spot-kick.

United ended Nelson Suburbs' run with three goals in the first half of a 3-0 victory at Auckland Keith Hay Park on Saturday.
Right wing Daniel Olaoye scored in the fifth minute, then Matt Conroy and Emiliano Tade both netted goals in a six-minute stretch just before halftime.
United, formed in 2020 from a merger of Onehunga Sports and Three Kings United, currently sit third in the Northern League, and have never won the Chatham Cup, although Onehunga won in 2017 and 1954.
Auckland United's Women are one win away from back-to-back Kate Sheppard Cup triumphs after holding on for a 1-0 win over Eastern Suburbs at Keith Hay Park on Sunday.
Rene Wasi scored the match's only goal in first-half stoppage-time, to set up a final matchup against the Wellington Phoenix Women's Reserves, who defeated Cashmere Technical 2-1 at Lower Hutt's Fraser Park.
Amber de Wit scored the match-winning goal in the 90th minute to send the SheNix Reserves to the title match. Earlier, Lily Brazendale's 27th minute goal was matched by Rebecca Lake in the 59th minute.
