An under-strength Breakers have been thrashed by the Phoenix from Melbourne 114 to 83 in their latest NBL game on the North Shore.

The loss drops the Breakers to eighth place on the points ladder and making their chances of reaching the playoffs slim.

LATEST HEADLINES:

Breakers star Parker Jackson-Cartwright let his frustrations show receiving a double technical foul to be ejected out of the game in the final quarter.

Next Star Karim Lopez joined fellow front court Breakers players Sam Mennenga and Rob Baker II sidelined and the Phoenix overpowered them with 62 points to 31 in the second half on the way to the 31-point win.

The Breakers are now 11-19 on the season and with the likelihood of continuing to miss Lopez, Mennenga and Baker II, it’s going to be mighty tough to chase down the sixth placed Tasmania JackJumpers (13-17).

Izaiah Brockington had another 19 points with three rebounds, Tai Webster 16 points and eight boards, and before he was ejected in the fourth quarter, Jackson-Cartwright 15 points, seven rebounds, five assists and two steals.

The Breakers are back at Spark Arena to host the Illawarra Hawks on Saturday.
