The Black Caps have held off a late charge by the United States to win their warm up game for the T20 World Cup in Mumbai by seven runs.


New Zealand scored 208 for 7 thanks to Tim Seifert's 66 from 31 balls and 40 from Glenn Phillips from 18 balls including four fours and three sixes.


LATEST HEADLINES:


Devon Conway made 16 while Mark Chapman batting at first drop hit 17. Daryl Mitchell collected 32 runs from 21 balls while Mitchell Santner made 19 and James Neesham 13.


Matt Henry was not out on one.


In reply the U.S finished at 201 for 8 - Matt Henry taking five wickets for 32 runs from his four overs.


Ish Sodhi took 2-27 and Jacob Duffy nabbed the other wicket.


New Zealand plays its first game of the World Cup on Sunday against Afghanistan.
