But it's Southland-born Josh Geary who has moved into contention and is one of four players within reach at nine-under tied for third.


Gear, 39, is alongside, Matias Sanchez, Corey Lamb and Dillon Hart all challenging the two men at the top.

Geary, had a six-under 65 including eagles on the fourth and 16th. There were also birdies on the 11th and 12th. His only blemish was on the 18th.


Meanwhile, Harry Hillier had a superb second round, although it started with a bogey on the first.


Hillier followed his first round 71 with a 64 and is tied ninth at seven-under after eight birdies in total in his round.


Kerry Mountcastle fell back a little after a second round 71 to be five-under and is tied 16th.


Denzel Ieremia is tied 53rd at one-under and Tyler Wood at even.
