Black Caps batter Finn Allen has smashed his name into the Australian Big Bash League record books.

The 26-year-old Aucklander has set a record for most sixes in a BBL season as his Perth Scorchers qualified for the final with a 48-run win over the Sydney Sixers in Perth.

LATEST HEADLINES:

Allen blasted four sixes in a 30-ball 49, a innings in a low-scoring contst between the league’s top two sides of the season.

The last of his sixes was his 37th of the season, which saw him eclipse Mitch Owen’s record of 36 in a single season, which was set last year.

Allen is a member of the New Zealand team for next month’s T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanaka.

Perth’s 147-9 proved far too good for the Sixers who struggled to 99 all out, sending the Scorchers straight into Sunday’s final.

The Sixers will get another chance to join them, and will face the winner of the Hobart Hurricanes-Melbourne Stars contest.
