Veteran lock Chelsea Bremner has been ruled out of the Pacific Four Series with injury with potential debutant Sam Taylor will join the Black Ferns squad and her replacement.


Thirty-year-old Bremner sustained a knee injury during training last week in Wellington and has played over 25 matches for the Black Ferns.

Taylor will meet and travel with the remaining group to the United States on Friday, April 3.


Twenty-three-year-old Taylor is an emerging forward within the Black Ferns environment, known for high work rate and ball carrying skills.


Taylor’s earned recognition for her consistent performances with the Manawatū Cyclones in the Farah Palmer Cup and Hurricanes Poua in Super Rugby Aupiki.


In 2023, she was named in the inaugural Black Ferns XV squad under Whitney Hansen, and again with the Black Ferns XV touring squad to South Africa last year.


The Black Ferns first game of the Pacific Four Series is April 12 at Sacramento against the United States.
