The Breakers are off the bottom of the NBL table - for the moment after posting their second win of the season.

They scored an 82-65 victory over the Tasmania JackJumpers, with Parker Jackson-Cartright, Izaiah Brockington and Sam Mennenga all making double figures.

Jackson-Cartwright finished as the top scorer with 21 points, and also contributing six assists as the co-captain led the side around the court..

Brockington also chimed in with six rebounds to go with his 17 points.

The win was set up with an 18-0 run either side of the first quarter break, which allowed the Breakers to control the rest of the match.

During this period, Tasmania were kept scoreless for almost six minutes.

The Breakers only had two turnovers, marking the lowest ever count by a NBL team since that stat was first recorded 43 years ago.

To highlight that even further, there has been 7,401 NBL games played since turnovers first started being recorded.

Coach Petteri Koponen was thrilled with the way his team were able to take care of the ball, after tallying 21 turnovers in their last game against South East Melbourne.

"The biggest thing [from the game] was we took care of the ball, which was something we emphasised a lot [during the week]," Koponen said.

"We controlled the game and were pretty good defensively (holding Tasmania to just 65 points, their lowest scoring output on NBL26).

"Although we didn't shoot well, we found a way to win, because we took care of the basketball and showed plenty of poise.

"[In games] it comes down to the little things and executing and I thought this was a very mature performance by us, as we never relaxed or took any possessions off."

The Breakers head to Melbourne on Sunday to take on the undefeated United team.
