The Black Sticks Men will host India in a special international hockey test series in November 2026 as part of the India-New Zealand Centenary celebrations, marking 100 years since India’s first hockey tour to New Zealand in 1926.

In recognition of the historic origins of the relationship, the match programme will also feature special Armed Forces fixtures, with representative military teams from New Zealand and India competing as curtain-raisers to the Black Sticks test matches.

These fixtures honour the original 1926 Indian Army hockey team whose tour to New Zealand began a sporting connection that has endured for a century.

For Hockey New Zealand, the tour represents a once-in-a-generation opportunity to recognise the sport that sits at the heart of this centenary story.

Test matches will be held on 19th, 21st and 22nd November, with further details regarding match venues to be announced.
