The one-off test between the Black Caps and Afghanistan is slowly heading towards a washout.
There was no extended waiting around on Day 3 to see if play would get underway at Greater Noida Stadium, outside New Delhi, India on Wednesday, with heavy rain overnight and throughout the morning soaking the outfield.

The grounds crew found more covers to protect the playing surface but with rain falling and water pooling at the time of the scheduled toss, match officials called things off at 9.10am local time (2.10pm NZ Time).

With persistent rain and thunderstorms forecast for Greater Noida on Thursday and Friday, the likelihood of any play on an already soaked field after weeks of rain in the lead-up seems highly unlikely.
