Athletics and snow sports are the big winners in the nominees for the 63rd Halberg Awards dominating the list of names for the February event in Auckland.

Golfing icon Lydia Ko has won New Zealand's top sporting honour, the Supreme Halberg Award.

A wide range of sports are represented in the 33 finalists across six categories in the Halberg Awards.
