The full Wellington Phoenix women’s schedule has been unveiled for what is

the club’s 20th season.

The Phoenix women will play at least seven of their 10 home matches at their Porirua Park fortress, starting from Sunday, November 15 as the ground is unavailable for the opening month of their campaign.

LATEST HEADLINES:

As revealed yesterday, the women will open their season with a grand final rematch against Melbourne City at Hnry Stadium on Sunday, October 18.

They will return to the Ring of Fire the following Sunday to play host to Melbourne Victory, with both matches to be double-headers with the Phoenix men.

The venue for the women’s first fixture of February has yet to be confirmed but the club are looking at a potential double-header outside Wellington.

Seven of their 10 home matches are on Sunday afternoons with three on Saturdays, two of which are on back-to-back weekends in January.

Phoenix head coach Bev Priestman has welcomed the full fixture release.

“We now know what we’re working towards over the next eight weeks,” Priestman said.

“It’s great to kick-off our season in Wellington, and to host both Melbourne sides in the opening two weeks will be a great test for us as they’re historically very difficult teams to beat.

“Being part of two double-headers at Hnry Stadium will give more of our fans a chance to see the team in action before we return to our Porirua Park home.

“It’s also good to make the long away trip to Perth and Adelaide back-to-back and get it out of the way early in the season.

“We can’t wait to get going again as the off season has felt far too long.

“We’re looking forward to being reunited with our fans to try and recreate what we achieved last season and more.”
