Ta'avao to Highlanders; Moorby back to Canes

The Highlanders have confirmed the signing of Angus Ta'avao for the 2026 Super Rugby Pacific season, reinforcing the squad with seasoned experience.
Ta'avao, 35, is a veteran prop with over 260 professional appearances across the Blues, Chiefs, Waratahs, Taranaki and Auckland teams.

A 23-cap All Black, Ta'avao can cover both sides of the scrum and his versatility, experience and leadership qualities will be welcomed by the Highlanders.
Ta'avao has previously played for the Blues, Waratahs, Chiefs and Blues previously in Super Rugby.
Meanwhile outside back Josh Moorby will return to the Hurricanes on a two-year deal from next season.
Moorby is back at the Hurricanes following a season-long spell in France with Top 14 club Montpellier.
He previously played for the Hurricanes between 2022 and 2024. During that period, the 27-year-old made 38 appearances and scored 21 tries
