After a slow start, the 37-year-old went three-under over the weekend to finish at even-par, 16 strokes behind the winner, Englishman Justin Rose, who won a three-hole playoff against JJ Spaun for the title.

Fox dropped two places to 34th in the FedEx Cup standings but comfortably remained in the top-50 to advance to this week's BMW Championship, near Baltimore.

The top-30 golfers after the BMW Championship moves on to the following week's Tour Championship, near Atlanta.

Fox produced four birdies, a bogey and double-bogey in the final round. His birdies came at the third, fourth, 15th and 16th holes, while the blemishes came with a double-bogey at the par-four 12th and bogey at the par-four 18th.

Meanwhile, Steven Alker was the best finisher of other New Zealand golfers in action at tournaments around the world.

Alker finished tied for 14th at the PGA Tour Champions' Boeing Classic at The Club at Snoqualmie Ridge following an up-and-down two-over 74 in the third and final round on Sunday (Monday NZT).

The 53-year-old made birdies at the second, seventh, 13th and 15th holes but paired it with three double-bogeys, at the fourth, 12th and 16th holes, all par-fours. He finished at seven-under, eight shots off the pace.

Harry Hillier finished in a share of 18th at the Korn Ferry Tour's Pinnacle Bank Championship in Omaha, moving up four spots in the season-long points list to 62nd after rounds of 65, 68, 68 and 73.

Ben Campbell and Danny Lee ended well down the leaderboard at the LIV Golf Chicago tournament at Bolingbrook Golf Club.

Campbell finished tied for 47th at four-over after rounds of 73, 70 and 74, while Lee was 51st in the 54-player event, following rounds of 72, 71 and 76.

Momoka Kobori and Amelia Garvey posted strong results after contrasting final rounds at the PIF London Championship on the Ladies European Tour on Sunday (Monday NZT).

Kobori finished in a share of 25th at two-under despite a one-over 74 that featured an eagle, three birdies and six bogeys, while Garvey moved up to 30th with a two-under 71 that included five birdies and three bogeys.
