New Zealand Warriors NRL and NRLW coverage will remain with Sky TV until 2034 after the long-time broadcast partner secured an exclusive seven-year broadcast deal for New Zealand rights with the Australian Rugby League Commission.

As well as all Warriors matches, the renewal ensures Sky customers will continue to enjoy comprehensive live coverage of the season-long NRL and NRLW competitions, the finals series and grand finals, as well as all State of Origin games.

“We’re thrilled have our valued relationship with Sky extend well into the future under this new broadcast deal,” said One New Zealand Warriors CEO Cameron George.

“It’s partnership we’re very grateful for. Through Sky’s passion for the Warriors we’re taking the club and rugby league to an ever-growing audience. These are exciting times for us and Sky does so much to build our brand and popularity among the fans.”

Sky’s renewed partnership came as the ARLC announced it had secured a record-breaking $AUS5.3 billion media rights agreement with Foxtel Group, Nine and Sky NZ, establishing the largest broadcast and media partnership in Australian sporting history.

The seven-year agreement from 2028 delivers a substantial increase in annual revenue to the game, returns control of competition scheduling and structure to the ARLC, expands access for fans across key markets and creates new opportunities for growth in Australia, New Zealand and internationally.

Of Sky’s relationship, ARLC chairman, Peter V’landys AM said: “We are delighted to extend our long-term partnership with Sky, who have been excellent partners in growing rugby league in New Zealand, and bringing its biggest moments into the homes of millions of New Zealanders.”

NRL chief executive officer Andrew Abdo added: “Rugby league is thriving in New Zealand and Sky has played an important role in that growth. This partnership ensures fans can continue to enjoy premium coverage while helping us reach new audiences and grow the game even further.”

While the terms are commercially sensitive, Sky is confident the agreement reflects the value of this content to New Zealand audiences and to its business, continuing its disciplined, data-informed approach to content investment.
