Wellington Phoenix back in black for 20th season
The Wellington Phoenix' have a new home kit for their 20th season, designed in-house and produced by Dynasty Sport, sees the club pay homage to its original strip with updates. history.
The shirt brings back the black body with yellow and white panelling from the inaugural 2007-08 campaign, paired with black shorts and socks.

The kit's A-League Men will debut the kit against Melbourne Victory, the same opponent the Phoenix faced in the club's first-ever match in 2007. The A-League Women open their campaign with a Grand Final rematch against Melbourne City.
Te Raukura, the plume of white feathers, an important symbol to tribes who affiliate to Te Āti Awa and other Taranaki iwi, is still central on the shirt.
As has been the case for the last four seasons, the tohu gifted to the club by Te Āti Awa is on the kit, worked into the side panelling. Acclaimed designer Charmaine Love created the tohu on behalf of Te Āti Awa in 2022.
The club's modern badge, including the motto E Rere Te Keo, also remains.
The badge was introduced in 2017 as the Phoenix entered their second decade, and takes inspiration from the story of the taniwha Ngake and Whataitai.
The original badge from 2007 will feature on Dynasty’s lifestyle range of Nix products, also available on the Phoenix club shop.
General manager David Dome can’t wait to see the kit in action.
“This season’s strip speaks volumes about our history, representing our original team while also reflecting our evolution over the past twenty years,” he said.
“Dynasty has produced a stunning kit, and I know our fans are going to appreciate all the nods to the past.
“I’m certainly excited to see it worn on the pitch, in the stands, and around Aotearoa.”
