New Zealand to host Finland in Davis Cup 2027

New Zealand has the choice of venue and will likely host top seeds Finland in Davis Cup Group I Playoffs 5-7 February, 2027.

The draw was conducted by World Tennis and has pitted New Zealand against the Scandinavian side.

Finland can call on Otto Virtanen as their top singles play ranked 106 with a career high just inside the top 100. However the remainder of their squad is ranked 400 or higher.

They do have the now lowly ranked due to injury Emil Ruusuvuori who is a former top-40 ranked player.

In doubles Finland can call on doubles world No 1 Harri Heliovaara a winner of three Grand Slam titles. Their captain is Jarkko Nieminen a winner of the title in Auckland in 2006.

The New Zealand team of James Watt, Finn Reynolds, Ajeet Rai, Anton Shepp, Isaac Becroft and captain Artem Sitak lost to Japan in Auckland in Group 1 this month while Finland were beaten by Monaco.
