Moana Pasifika to face Chiefs in Rotorua

The Chiefs and Moana Pasifika are taking Super Rugby Pacific to Rotorua as the new location for their Round 9 Super Rugby Pacific match.
Originally cheduled to be played at Teufaiva Sport Stadium in Nukuʻalofa. Tonga, it will now be held in the Bay of Plenty at Rotorua International Stadium, 11 April at 2pm.

Chiefs CEO, Simon Graafhuis, said it wass exciting to have another game in the region after the Gallagher Chiefs played a preseason game in Mount Maunganui in January.
“We love our fans and having the chance to play in Rotorua is a real bonus for us. We know we have strong support in the city and we are confident those fans will turn out in force for this match.”
Moana Pasifika CEO, Debbie Sorensen expected a large crowd and plenty of engagement with the community.
"While we are sad we can't take this game to Tonga, we do know that our fans and our community are everywhere – including in the Bay of Plenty region. I know Rotorua will alsowelcome the visit by the Chiefs, so it's a win-win for both teams."
Financial issues with staging a game in Tonga was the reason for the change of venue for the Super Rugby game being transferred
