Mitch Evans falls short of Formula E title

New Zealand driver Mitch Evans has had to settle for a third in the Formula E championship, narrowly missing out on the champion title for the fourth time in the last five years.
Evans had an opportunity to claim overall driver honours for Jaguar heading into the final two races at the London E-Prix.

However, his ninth and fourth placed finishes at the Docklands circuit in East London weren't enough, with the last race of the season havingGermany's Pascal Wehrlein emerge on top for Porsche, becoming just the second driver to clinch the title for a second time.
Brit Jake Dennis was demoted to second place, five points behind the 169 tallied by Wehrlein across 17 races. Evans was third on 160.
It matched the New Zealander's third-placing in 2023, having also finished runner-up in 2022 and 2024.
Evans,32 has now finished a decade-long stint at Jaguar in the electric powered vehicle class. and has yet to announce where he will race next season.
Fellow kiwi driver Nick Cassidy finished eighth overall for Citroen after ninth and sixth placings in the London races.
