Ryan Fox has finished the US Open with a one-over round to be 12 over for the tournament and tied 56th overall at Pinehurst, North Carolina.

The fourth round 71 was a big improved on the previous days 76.

The final round contained bogeys on the second, fourth, seventh and eighth with birdies on the third plus the 10th and 16th to go clear in the back nine.

Thirty-seven-year-old Fox has made the cut at all three golf majors this year.

Meanwhile Bryson DeChambeau parred the final three holes to complete a one-over-par 71, and that was enough for a one-shot victory at the US Open for the second time in five years.

American DeChambeau, began the day with a three-shot lead, finished at 6-under 274, benefiting from Rory McIlroy's late putting failures at the year's third men's major.

McIlroy finished alone at five-under with Tony Finau and Patrick Cantlay one shot further back.
