New Zealander Michaela Drummond has won stage three of the Volta a Portugal Feminina women's cycle classic.

It is her second stage win having also taken out the opening day. She was 21st on stage two after a flat tyre pushed her down the order.

There is one more stage left of the race plus the special stage in Lisbon.

Drummond riding for the B&B Hotels team leads the race overall on general classification ahead of Marie-Morgane Le Deunff of France and countrywoman India Grangier.

The 26-year-old was a big-name omission from the New Zealand Olympic team for Paris.
